Agere, the public municipal water, effluents and waste company located in Braga appeared in 1999, in order to better serve all the citizens of the county, whether in water consumption, public sanitation network or public service of waste collection.
Braga city council began a process of transformation Agere into a public company, alienating 49% of its capital. To that end, a public tender was launched to select a private partner, in conjunction with the local authorities, exploring the activity of public water supply, sanitation and hygiene and municipal cleaning.
AGERE has a registered capital valued at € 39 million - CRC Braga and NIPC 504 807 692, held 100% by Braga city council until 22 April 2005. On that day was performed the sale of 49% of capital to the business consortium formed by ABB.
